Drop-In Scheduler Overview

The Drop-In Scheduler allows you to offer paid drop-in classes to your customers.   Drop-ins are selected and paid for online just like semester classes. Visitors to your site can use a "Drop-Ins" menu item or a link to the drop-in scheduler on one of your pages.

Here is a example of some upcoming drop-ins that a customer can pick from:

Buttons and links for upcoming drop-ins can be added to your class schedule pages, as shown below.  You can change the text used for the "drop-in" buttons if needed:

Here's an example showing upcoming drop-ins for each class. Each date is a link your customer can use to schedule a drop-in:

Drop-in links can be added to your calendar too:

Finally, the class details page will show drop-in buttons in the list of upcoming class meetings:

Drop-ins can be added from the back-end or from your order-entry page as well.

Drop-ins use the same availability mechanism used by the make-up and demo schedulers. You can set aside fixed slots in each class for drop-ins or use any open enrollment seats for any given class.  Drop-ins can use slots opened up by marked absences as well.  This behavior is controlled by drop-in settings on each semester at Setup > General > Semesters.

Here's an example of how available make-up, demo and drop-in slots are entered when adding a class:

The drop-in scheduler can be activated for any given semester at Setup > General > Semesters. Here are the semester settings for the drop-in scheduler:

Drop-in pricing can use a single default price for all drop-ins, or it can be based on a quantity schedule.  Below is an example of a drop-in pricing schedule.

In this example, an order for one drop-in would cost $20.  Two drop-ins would cost $30 ($15 for each drop-in).  Three drop-ins would cost $36 ($12 for each drop-in).  This pricing schedule only covers up to 3 drop-ins so any additional drop-ins would just use the lowest price.  Note that a drop-in is counted for each student and each class, so three students in one class or one student in three classes would each add three drop-ins to a customer's order.

The drop-in scheduler supports automated reminders via emails/SMS texts and a variety of other options at Setup > Make-Ups, Demos & Drop-Ins > Drop-In Settings.  If you don't want to use the terms "drop-in" or "student" you can provide your own terms, as shown here:
