How to show class meetings in your calendar

Showing class meetings in your calendar adds value to your site. Class meetings show up on your calendar automatically. However, you may want to exercise more control of the process. There are several ways to do this.

You can set your default calendar formatting by going to Setup > Settings > Class Settings.

In the upper section, you can pick the information you would like to display in your calendar. In the lower section, you can control the color and other presentation options for your calendar entries.

The calendar settings on this page are used for all of your classes by default. However, you can override these settings for any particular class.

Go to Manage > Classes > Classes, and select the class name to edit it. Click on the "Calendar Formatting" tab, and you'll see the same set of formatting information. Click on the "Use these settings" option to activate the formatting controls for this class.

If you are showing locations in your calendar entries, you may wish to enter a "short name" for your locations. This will keep the calendar entries compact, which can be important if you are showing lots of information in your calendar.

Go to Setup > General > Locations and select the location name to edit it. The Short Name field is at the bottom of the page.

Here is what the calendar page might look like with class meetings added to it. Your template and formatting options will likely be different than the ones shown below.
