How to get started with Online Registration

Follow these steps to get your site ready for online registration.

1) Create your semesters and class schedules.

Make sure that your teachers, class types, locations and classes have been entered. Use the links below to review those sections if necessary.

2) Enter your prices (optional).

You may want to enter prices for your classes.

You can enter different prices for specific locations and/or classes. You can also have different prices for different semesters. Furthermore, you can have prices vary by student and/or by the position on the order (first registration, second, etc.).

See How to set prices for online registration if you wish to use prices during registration.

If you don't wish to use prices, do not select a price set when you create your semester. If you wish to remove a reference to a price set from a semester, you can update it by going to Setup > General > Semesters.

3) Confirm the number of seats for registration in your classes.

Once you've told the system how many seats are available for each class, Main Street Sites can keep track of the remaining seats. You can do this when you create your classes.

You can also see How to set classes for online registration for more information on this process.

4) Make sure your payment provider has been set up.

You'll need to get set up with a merchant account or PayPal to process payments.

If you are using PayPal, please enter your PayPal account email address in the appropriate place on the Setup > General > Settings. You may need to contact customer support if your account hasn't been configured for PayPal yet.

If you are using a merchant account, please contact customer support to get your settings updated.

See Payment Processing Options for more details on the available payment processors.
